Chased by dolphins x2
Swam with sea turtles x5
Sunrises & sunsets galore
Day 1
Flew from Vancouver to Kahului, Maui with my sister for a family vacation with our parents.
Checked into Makena Surf in Wailea, caught the end of a beautiful sunset from the patio.

Day 2
Got up early to watch the sunrise at the beach. Then went for a run to explore the area, followed by a dip in the ocean.
Highlight: Turtle time! Went snorkelling just off Po‘olenalena Beach and followed the giant sea turtles for hours.

Day 3
Sunrise Yoga with Adriene via iPad!

Rented paddleboards just before sunset.
Highlight: The dolphin encounter! 2 dolphins circled our paddleboards for ages and then followed us almost all the way back to the beach as the sun went down.
Day 4
Paddleboarding day two, on the lookout for dolphins and whales but no encounters this time.

Got dressed up to go out for dinner at Nick’s Fishmarket. Delicious dinner followed by flambéed strawberries for dessert.

Day 5
Up early again for a sunrise paddle.

Drove out to Lahaina and Kapalua. Stopped for lunch at the Sea House restaurant.
Back to the resort for a sunset walk along the seawall path that connects all of the resorts, and caught some of the entertainment along the way.
Day 6
Highlight: Went for the most amazing hike at the Waihee Ridge Trail. Rather steep and a bit foggy at the top, but gorgeous views along the way and a great workout.

Stopped at the Maui Brewing Co. in Kihei on the way back for an après beer flight.
Day 7
Last day, final sunrise paddle.
Then family fun with mini golf and bumper boats at the Maui Golf & Sports Park.

Ended with a delicious last dinner at DUO’s restaurant at the Four Seasons.

Day 8
Flew back home to Vancouver.
Mahalo, Maui for the most beautiful vacation!
